Our Treatments & Services

EVALUATION
At Journey, we recognise that addiction is complex and does not exist in isolation. Many factors can cause and amplify addictive disorders and each individual case is unique. We believe that both unresolved pain and trauma are two primary factors in this regards.

Our multidisciplinary team of experts evaluates each patient as an individual. This allows us to construct a flexible treatment plan for their personal needs.
We
recognise that some patients might require access to their devices for work and/or personal needs that cannot be put on hold while they’re in treatment. In such cases, monitored access to phones, tablets and laptops is granted.

This process of assessing each patient on a case-by-case basis helps us build trust and respect between our patients and the clinical team. This approach allows us to ensure the highest chances of success for our patients.

INTERVENTIONS
HELPING THOSE WHO WON’T HELP THEMSELVES

Seeing a loved one self-destruct is terrifying. Watching them refuse and resist help despite your best efforts to aid them is heartbreaking.  Making the decision to get your loved one into treatment via legal means is one of the hardest decisions a person can make.

Thankfully, you don’t have to go through this process alone. At Journey, we work with social workers who specialise in the field of addiction and our team has years of experience in planning and implementing interventions. We will be there with you every step of the way. Consider our experience and expertise yours.

DETOX
TAKING THE FIRST STEPS

Detoxification is the first step for our patients’ on their journey to recovery.
Our patients receive a 72-hour medically supervised detox, overseen by a doctor that
specialises in addiction.

We know what a challenging time detox tends to be for our patients which is why our staff go out of their way to carry out their duties with love, compassion, patience and respect
Journey also offers a
specialised 7-day detox for corporate clients who can’t miss work. This includes the above detox as well as an additional four days of intensive therapeutic treatment.

Thereafter, the patient can resume working while staying at Journey or while staying at home. If its the latter, we encourage the patient to attend therapeutic groups in the afternoon.

INPATIENT
BEGINNING THE JOURNEY

Our inpatient rehabilitation programme is designed to break the shackles of addiction through the careful and methodical dismantling of harmful, old belief systems through the promotion of self-love, self-acceptance and self-esteem.

As a result, we strive to provide our patients with a loving, empathetic environment of recovery typified by relaxed and flexible rules and boundaries.

Our inpatient programme sees a patient reside fulltime at our luxurious and comfortable premises in order to receive around-the-clock support and care. Patients partake in our daily therapeutic groups, each of which are supervised by one of our qualified and experienced counsellors. This is supplemented by weekly one-on-one counselling sessions.

In alignment with our emphasis on humane and reasonable rules, patients can
look forward to controlled and monitored access to their devices within
boundaries agreed upon by the therapeutic team.

OUTPATIENT
A MODERN APPROACH TO ADDICTION TREATMENT

Our outpatient programme allows patients to fully participate in life through work and social commitments while still having access to the safety and support provided by outpatient therapeutic groups and one-on-one sessions.

Our outpatient groups take place in the evening to accommodate those who work.

This programme does not require a patient to reside at Journey or any of its premises

Halfway House

Pembroke Halfway House provides the perfect balance of protection and freedom to our clients.  At Pembroke, clients are allowed to work and/or study and still remain connected to the comprehensive support system offered by Journey. Halfway house clients still receive daily therapeutic groups and weekly one-on-one sessions. This transitional juncture facilitates a patient’s continued growth in confidence to take on the world in a new and healthy manner. We believe this delicate reintegration process is made easier by the flexibility and understanding offered during their inpatient treatment.

Our Journey Team

Each person’s Journey to recovery is unique. We design the best treatment options for each client taking into consideration their specific needs and challenges. Our programme is centred around daily group therapy led by specialised counsellorsIssues such as trauma, self-esteem, relationship issues, addictive behaviour and substance abuse are processed without judgment, blame or fear.
